Extraordinary Machine

I always fool myself into believing the next time a big serious bout of depression hits that I’ll be ready for it and the responses. Sometimes I am, sometimes I power through it and manage to have it last only a few hours. 

Other times it wrecks me and I lose days or weeks or work due to being absolutely crippled by these mental shackles. 

I know there’s no reason, but sometimes I’m foolhardy enough to wish that there was one.
